music i like
KW - Yandhi
Honestly, it's a pretty good album. The instrumentation is spectacular. The verses are also catchy and earworm-y as all hell. The sounds that were played with in this album are so bright and shiny. Could have been a modern day Graduation. Alas, as all good albums by Yeezy go, it went in the vault. Thank God For Leaks.
Favorite Track/s: Law Of Attraction
すとぷりちゃんねる - Strawberry Prince
For the self-titled album of my favorite idol group, it perfectly encapsulates their golden era of music, when it was so distinct from most idol-adjacent music! Rinu's voice in particular, is well represented in the album. Nanamori and Jel's rapping during track breakdowns also give such an energetic burst to the poppy and bouncy tracks! Production is stellar on this album, and the soundscapes are very well executed in this album, taking influence from EDM, trap, orchestral, cinematic, synthpop, classical, pop-punk, DnB, RnB, and even Future Garage!
Favorite Track/s: じゃむじゃむシグナル, 四季, Streamer, Very, Prince
Mabisyo - Hentai Jazz Deluxe
Despite the title and album art, this album reminds me of traversing empty worlds in VRChat, the echoey samples mixed with the snappy snares just make this album so unique. It feels like i'm 7 and lost in the electronics section of the department store, and everything is just covered in frutiger aero.
Favorite Track/s: Goodbye Hugs Hurt More Than Kisses, Shared Dreams of a Cold Night
Michael Jackson - Thriller
Absolutely phenomenal album, and a pop icon. All of the tracks are bangers. Absolute classics. From MJ’s smooth voice to the punchy drums and synths, and the accompaniment of the guitars, a timeless classic.
Favorite Track/s: Pretty Young Thing
PAS TASTA - GOOD POP + GOOD POP THE REMIXES
This album takes a super unique take on the classic JPop band formula by injecting the influence of Hyperpop and EDM. It takes strong influence on the indie music scene aka the web music scene. It’s unlike any J-Pop album i’ve heard before. The remix album additionally adds so much sheer hype and energy to this already bubbly and cute album.
Favorite Track/s: sunameri smoke, peanut phenomenon (six impala remix)
Moe Shop - Moe Moe
This album achieves such a stuttery effect with its production that just scratches that itch in my brain just right. The smooth Japanese rapping floats like butter over the future-funk-esque production.
Favorite Track/s: Notice
Daft Punk - Alive 2007
I consider this one of the best live albums ever. It blends so many Daft Punk classics together, in a way that not only respects the production of the originals but enhances them. It’s a masterpiece all on it’s own. The accompanying live concerts were also visually stunning, and have aged quite well.
Favorite Track/s: Touch It/Technologic, Prime Time Of Your Life/Brainwasher/Rollin’&Scratchin/Alive
SOPHIE - Oil Of Every Pearl's Un-Insides
This album was an awakening for me. I put very high respect to this album, as it made me see a new vision both as an artist and as a person.
Favorite Track/s: Ponyboy
KW - Donda (Deluxe)
This album gave off such an airy vibe, and the production is great. The use of organs and choirs from the JIK era also elevates the soundscape of this album. Also, globglobgabgalab.
Favorite Track/s: 24, Remote Control Pt. 2
garlagan - 00
This album is so fun to listen to, it combines the guitars and pop rock influences of tracks like Do and Accelerated A, whilst also adding the Electro influences of tracks like Slowing Down and Who Knows. Bonus points for being on vivid/stasis!
Favorite Track/s: Holography
Madeon - Good Faith
This album just gives such a soulful rhythm. The production and vocals are amazing and the soundscapes give off this sparkly, warm, aura. Like hot chocolate with glitter.
Favorite Track/s: Gonna Be Good (Live), Be Fine
Venetian Snares - Detrimentalist
If i could describe ADHD as an album, this is it. The use of so many sounds, contrasted with the erratic drum breaks and off time signatures make this a unique listen and an exercise in thinking.
Favorite Track/s: Circle Pit, Sajtban
Clipse - Let God Sort Em Out
A beautiful and luxurious hiphop album. Has some DIABOLICALLY good rapping, as well as phenomenal production from Pharrell. The features on this album are also AMAZING.
Favorite Track/s: The Birds Don't Sing, P.O.V.
Porter Robinson - SMILE! :D
One of my favorite projects from the anime white boy. I love the pop-punk inspired production, as well as the interludes. It sounds so different, yet still so... porter.
Favorite Track/s: Year Of The Cup, Cheerleader
Artifyber - Floriverse: Epsilon
An unexpected banger of an album from someone who i always considered more of an artist. It has a bedroom-producer charm for some tracks yet always hits hard in DJ Sets.
Favorite Track/s: THOSE WHO GROW, Catdelions III
Vylet Pony - Love And Ponystep
Feels like a modern revival of brostep, mixed with a heartfelt story. Infectious songs accompanied by interludes that just make you think about life.
Favorite Track/s: My Love Is A Quickscope
Cyaniblue - Azu Marauders
A mashup album that somehow feels like ATCQ got their hands on a copy of Azumanga Daioh before it even existed.
Favorite Track/s: Sucka Andagi
Tyler The Creator - Bastard
A harrowing album sonically, with the edgiest yet catchy lyrics i've heard. I still repeat "Faster than Mexicans can sprint over borders" to myself as a stim.
Favorite Track/s: Seven, VCR/Wheels
